![]() ![]() These particular binoculars have the added advantage that they were serviced in 1999, ( see photo of the original invoice) and also have a later tripod attachment for ease of use.Īs can be seen from the photos, the cosmetic condition is excellent all round with virtually no paint loss, and the original leather case with shoulder strap is also in sound condition. ![]() Both eyepieces can be independently focused, and along with their unique built in filters (grey, green and polarising), makes these binoculars a real pleasure to use. The optical quality of this example is very good, and focuses well with a very clear, correctly collimated image. ![]() The makers marks read as follows: 'BARR & STROUD 7X CF41, GLASGOW & LONDON' and are numbered 69168, indicating they were issued between 1944 to 1945. Not only have these become much sought after for their collectable value, but they are still put to practical use by many collectors, due to the build quality and high specification. This is a pair of the famous CF41 British Naval binoculars made by Barr & Stroud in the 1930's which were widely used during WW2. ![]()
